We discuss how prayer is the pivotal connection that invites God’s favor, blessing, and protection into our lives. We encourage you to step into God’s shelter by continuing your daily prayer habit, fighting your battles under God’s covering rather than in your own strength, and trusting that God will fight for you. We remind you that even just ten minutes a day of prayer can transform your life and build an unbreakable foundation of faith.

Thanks for reading BuildStronger.co! In Luke 11:1, the disciples saw something real in Jesus—an intimacy and strength that came from His connection with the Father—so they didn’t ask for a strategy, they asked for a relationship lesson: “Lord, teach us to pray.”

The heart of this video is that you don’t have to “know how” before you begin. You can begin with one honest sentence: “Lord, teach me to pray.” That request is humility, hunger, and surrender all at once. It’s also a way of telling God, “Put in me what I don’t have on my own. Work into me what is pleasing in Your sight.” Prayer isn’t mainly a religious performance or a list of requests—it’s receiving God Himself through relationship, learning His presence, and growing in real conversation with your Father.

The enemy would love to drain you of joy, discourage you, and convince you you’re not “good at prayer.” But today’s challenge is to refuse that lie. Prayer can be as simple as talking to your best friend—honest, open, and real—while still honoring God as Lord through worship and gratitude.

Personal takeaways:

Start your ten minutes with: “Jesus, teach me to pray.”

Add: “Holy Spirit, help me pray”—and trust He will.

Don’t aim for perfect words; aim for real connection.

Keep showing up—God meets hunger with presence.

Thanks for reading BuildStronger.co! We are getting so close to the end, and I’m believing powerful things from the Lord for your life—because He has a tremendous plan for you.

Today I want to talk about something that is honestly one of the core messages of my life:

Do not quit.

Don’t quit on God. Don’t quit on prayer. Don’t quit on what you’ve been believing for.

For years this has been a foundation in me—because the tenacity of a believer to keep pressing and keep going is absolutely vital, especially when it comes to prayer.

Keep Asking. Keep Seeking. Keep Knocking.

Jesus said in Matthew 7:7 (I’m paraphrasing):

“Keep on asking. Keep on seeking. Keep on knocking.”

Your prayer is a request.

Your prayer is a method of seeking God.

Your prayer is you knocking on the door of heaven.

But here’s what happens: we pray… and then we start feeling like we’re not being heard. Not being seen. Like nothing is changing. Like the answer isn’t coming.

And that’s when people quit.

Friend—sir—come on, I’m asking you: don’t give up.

Because what if you were one prayer away?

Think about it.

If you knew you were one prayer away from the breakthrough, would you stop? Absolutely not.

The problem is… we never really know when we’re one prayer away.

So today, I’m encouraging you again:

Do not quit.

Don’t Stop When the 30 Days End

Even when this challenge is over, don’t stop praying.

Let this become a habit you’ve invested in yourself. Let it become a holy resiliency in you—where you decide: I’m going to seek God from here going forward.

Because the God you serve loves you, and He has a plan for you. And as you pray and seek Him, He will answer you. That’s the joy of His heart—to respond to His sons.

Here’s the Challenge: Pray It Again

So here’s my challenge today:

Don’t stop—pray again today.

Pray like you did yesterday.

Maybe you’ve got a situation in your life and you still don’t see the resolution. You don’t know the answer. And you’ve prayed about it over and over and over.

Friend… today, pray it again.

Bring it before the Lord again.

Knock on heaven’s door again.

Because God has a moment and a season where He answers.

And I’ll even say this prophetically: I believe the church is stepping into a season of open doors, open windows, and promises kept. We are living in the last days—this is that moment.

So go pray again. Go talk to your Heavenly Father.

Reflection Question

What do you need to keep asking God for without quitting?

Name it. Label it.

“My spouse needs to be saved.”

“I need to be a better husband.”

“I need to be a better father.”

“We need provision—we’re lacking.”

“I need healing in my body.”

“I need God to open the right doors.”

Whatever it is—don’t quit.

Prayer (Agreement With You Today)

Lord Jesus, I pray for that man who’s watching right now. Father, I ask that healing be released in his body and in his life. Your Word says, by Your stripes we are healed, and I come into agreement with him right now.

Father, for those who need provision, help, strength, wisdom—whatever the need is—Lord, I pray that You would meet them right where they are. Make a way. Open doors. Release answers.

And Father, give him the strength to keep pressing—because You have a way to meet his need if he simply won’t quit.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

One More Time, Friend…

Whatever the area is, God has a way to meet your need—if you simply won’t quit.

So go pray again in Jesus’ name.

And hey—thanks for being with me this morning. Take your ten minutes if you haven’t yet, and I’ll see you in the next video.

Thanks for reading BuildStronger.co! Welcome to day seventeen of the thirty-day prayer challenge. I’m really glad you’re here with me. I’m thankful for what God is doing in us as we keep showing up and seeking His face. Prayer is the key to your spiritual walk and your spiritual life—there’s just no substitute for it.

Today I want to take you to a passage that’s probably familiar to a lot of you, and honestly, it’s one of my favorites. It’s Proverbs 3:5–6:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

lean not to your own understanding;

in all your ways acknowledge Him,

and He will direct your paths.”

That’s a powerful word right there.

The Lord is calling us to trust Him with everything we have—all our heart, all that we are. And then He says, “Don’t lean on your own understanding.” Now, we all have things we think are best. We all have feelings about what we should do, what makes sense, what seems right. But ultimately, God has a plan for your life. He has a way that’s right for you. And part of growing spiritually is learning to lean into God’s plan instead of clinging to our own.

Then He says, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.”

And this is where a lot of people misunderstand it.

So many times we pray things like, “God, help me in this decision,” or “Lord, bless this venture,” or “God, help me with what I’m about to do”… but if we’re honest, we already made up our mind. We already decided. We already know what we’re going to do—we’re just asking God to put His stamp on it.

But when Scripture says, “In all your ways acknowledge Him,” it’s not saying, “Hey God, I just want You to know You’re included.” That’s not what it means at all. It means to get to know Him. To become acquainted with Him. And not only that—it means to actually give Him control. To give Him charge.

Here’s the truth: God has a better plan for you than you have for yourself. And trusting God is not just believing He exists. Trusting God is giving Him control of your plans and your life.

Today’s Challenge: Pray Before You Decide

Here’s my challenge for you today: pray before you decide, and invite God into it.

If you’ve got a decision in front of you—something about your family, your job, your future, a choice you’ve got to make—don’t just pray about it as a formality. Invite Him in, and by that I mean: give Him charge. Give Him control.

Before you decide, wait on the voice of the Lord. Wait on the prompting of the Holy Spirit. And believe that God is going to give you direction.

Today’s Reflection Question

What is the decision that you need to seek God about right now?

I want to encourage you—label it. Write it down.

Before you take your ten minutes of prayer today, write it down:

“God, here’s the decision about my family…”

“Lord, here’s the decision about my job…”

“God, here’s the choice I need to make…”

Then put it before the Lord.

There was an Old Testament king named Hezekiah who did something just like this—he wrote it down and spread it before the Lord. He sought God’s face, and God gave him great success.

So come on—write it down and say, “Lord, here it is. Here’s my decision. I’m inviting You in to have control. Give me a prompting. Give me Your voice. Lead me and guide me.”

And if you do that with sincerity, God will come in and lead you as you lean into His understanding instead of your own.

Thanks for reading BuildStronger.co! It’s in the book of Psalms—a powerful, tremendous book.

Psalm 46:10 says:

“Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.”

That verse hits different, because so many times we’re ready to fill every space in our life with noise and action. We want to talk, plan, fix, explain, do something—anything—to make the situation change.

And what’s funny is yesterday I encouraged you to pray out loud… so today I’m flipping that coin.

Because there are moments when the most spiritual thing you can do is this:

Be still. And know that God is in charge.

Stop trying to fix it.

Stop trying to force it forward.

Stop trying to make it all happen.

Just be still and know that God is able… and God is in control.

Today’s Challenge: Ten Minutes of Stillness

Here’s what I want you to do today.

If you haven’t done your ten minutes yet, do it now. And if you already did—find another pocket of time in your day.

But for ten minutes, I want you to sit in stillness with God.

No phone.

No noise.

No TV.

None of that.

Find a place and just sit with Him.

When you start that quiet time, simply pray something like:

“Jesus, speak to me today. I’m going to be silent, and I’m going to listen for Your voice.”

Because here’s the thing—He already knows what you’ve been praying about. He’s fully aware of what you need. So at the start, just tell Him:

“Lord, I’m listening for Your instruction. I’m listening for Your voice.”

Then just sit with Him.

The verse says, “I will be exalted in the earth.” That means God will be lifted up. And I just want to remind you: I don’t always have to have the answer. I don’t always have to be action-oriented.

Sometimes God needs me to just be still in His presence and let Him work things out.

This is the day for that.

Reflection Question

What will you silence so you can hear God today?

Is there something in your life you need to silence so you can hear Him more clearly?

And can I give you a “given”?

Take a moment today—maybe you need to communicate with your spouse or the people who have your phone number—but take a time frame… even twenty or thirty minutes… and let them know:

“My phone is going to be on silent for a little while.”

Just remove some distraction.

And maybe it’s not just your phone. Maybe there’s another area you need to silence. Friend, that’s okay.

Take the silence with the Lord.

God will speak to you. He desires to. In Jesus’ name.

Thanks for reading BuildStronger.co! I truly believe this challenge is life-changing. And if you’ve been staying with it—still seeking the Lord and taking your ten minutes every day—you’re finding something out along the way: God loves you. You’re finding out you can hear His voice. And you’re realizing He actually wants to speak to you.

Thanks for reading BuildStronger.co! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work.

Today’s scripture is simple, but it’s loaded.

1 Peter 5:7 says, “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

Let me say it again: “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

Friend, you were never designed to carry those worries and problems and burdens and all the stuff.

Now I know how we are as men—sometimes what we excel at is trying to carry it all, do it all, figure it all out, and make it all work. And to some degree, that’s built into our nature. But when it comes to actually carrying the heavy load… God’s desire is that you would cast it on Him and not try to shoulder it all by yourself.

He longs to give you wisdom and clarity and understanding that you don’t possess on your own. He wants to pour it into you.

One of my prayers is, “Lord, give me a wise and discerning heart.” And the reason I pray that is because I know I don’t have all the wisdom I need—and I know I’m not big enough to carry the whole load.

And guess what?

Neither are you.

So we’ve got to begin to cast our cares on the Lord.

Today’s Challenge

Here’s the challenge for today:

Hand it over to Him—and say it out loud in prayer.

When you take your ten minutes… if you’ve already taken your ten minutes today, then maybe pause for just another moment after this and actually begin to cast those cares onto Jesus.

Because I know we can pray in our heart—and God hears the prayer of our heart. But there’s something powerful and important about our words.

In fact, our faith follows our words.

Our faith follows what we hear. God’s Word builds faith—scripture builds faith. But our faith also follows what we hear our own mouth say.

So when you begin to pray things like:

“Lord, I hand this financial situation over to You. God, I give it to You to fix,” your faith begins to follow that. Your heart starts lining up with the reality that God can handle it.

Or when you pray:

“God, I’ve got this physical issue. And Jesus, I know You took the stripes for my healing. I hand this over to You. I believe You’re the God who heals me from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet,” your faith begins to rise and follow what you’re declaring.

Or when you pray:

“God, I hand this family situation over to You—my children, my grandchildren, my spouse. Lord, I don’t know how to fix this on my own. But I believe You are able. I believe You desire to do it. And I believe You have power to do it,” men, your faith will follow your words.

So pray out loud—even if that means you need to get in a place where no one can hear you. Pray out loud.

Reflection Question

Here’s the reflection question for today:

What worry are you still holding that God really wants to carry?

What is it for you?

Is it your marriage?

Is it your finances?

Is it your health?

Is it something with your children?

Your job?

A situation you don’t know how you’re going to work out?

Or maybe you’ve got big decisions approaching, and you know you need God’s wisdom.

Well guess what, friend?

God wants to help you with that.

So cast that care on Him, in Jesus’ name.

Thanks for reading BuildStronger.co! We’re seeking the Lord together, and that matters more than you know.

Today’s scripture is Hebrews 4:16, and it says:

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

That verse is powerful—because I think a lot of us come before the Lord with this preconceived notion that we’re not worthy. Like we shouldn’t even be there. And because of that, we struggle to connect with our Heavenly Father.

But men, hear me: you don’t come before God based on your goodness. You don’t come based on your accomplishments, or what you’ve done right, or what you haven’t done wrong.

You come before the Father based on what Jesus has done for you.

It’s His blood on your life that makes you worthy. That’s why I love that this verse is in the Bible. It doesn’t say “come timidly.” It doesn’t say “come if you’ve had a perfect week.”

It says: come boldly.

So whenever you take your ten minutes today—this morning, this afternoon, before bed, whenever—go boldly before the Lord. Don’t go like you’ve gone before where you’re thinking, “Maybe God’s disappointed in me,” or “Maybe He’s upset with me,” or “I’ve got things He’s mad about.”

I used to feel that way a lot in my early walk with Christ.

But as I’ve come to know the Lord as my Heavenly Father—as my Abba—I’ve realized something: He’s not angry with me. He’s not sitting there waiting to pounce on me.

The Bible says I should come boldly to His throne. Why?

So I can obtain mercy and find grace.

And yes—there are times we’ve sinned and we need mercy. We need forgiveness. And praise God, He gives it freely. The Lord will forgive your sin as you confess it. He’s gracious and merciful to wash you in the blood of Jesus again.

But the verse also says we can come boldly to find grace to help in time of need.

Meaning: whatever that need is—whatever you need God to do for you—He is willing. He is ready. He is able.

Today’s challenge

Approach God with confidence, not with shame.

Don’t let shame and guilt keep you away from the Lord. Even if you need forgiveness, don’t let shame talk you into hiding. Go get the mercy and grace you need.

Reflection question

Where do you need boldness the most to pray instead of hiding?

That hiding thing goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve did wrong… and what did they do? They hid from the Lord. They were afraid of what He would say.

But because of Jesus, we have no reason to hide from God.

We can come boldly—confidently—before Him as our Abba, our Heavenly Father. And He will gladly forgive us, give us mercy, and help us in time of need.

And I’ll tell you… in my own life, there have been areas the Lord has dealt with me about where I needed to come boldly and just say, “Lord, You already know about this. So I’m giving it to You. I’m going to talk to You about it.”

Men, God already knows everything about you. There’s nothing hidden from Him.

So bring it before Him with boldness—and you’ll find out just how much He loves you, and how ready He is to help you.

Today—go get His help.

Thanks for being with me. I’ll see you in the next video.

Thanks for reading BuildStronger.co! Welcome to day thirteen of the 30-Day Prayer Challenge.

I truly believe God has something great for you today. As you keep seeking Him—and as you stay faithful to this challenge—God is making a difference in your life. He’s transforming you. And I believe He’s going to begin to speak to you in powerful ways… maybe even in areas you haven’t really heard Him before. It’s going to change your life.

And if you don’t feel like you’ve heard the voice of the Lord the way you want to yet—friend, don’t give up. Keep pressing in. God longs to speak to you and do tremendous works in your life.

Today’s Scripture: Psalm 55:17 (NLT)

Let’s jump into today’s scripture. It’s Psalm 55:17, and I’m reading it from the New Living Translation:

“Morning, noon, and night, I cry out in my distress, and the Lord hears my voice.”

Let me read that one more time because that’s powerful:

“Morning, noon, and night, I cry out in my distress, and the Lord hears my voice.”

Do you see the promise in that verse? It’s clear: if I cry out to the Lord, He will hear my voice.

Yes, I want to hear His voice—and I do—but I want you to understand something: God wants to hear your voice too. He wants to know you. He wants to be with you. He wants your heart. He wants that connection.

And the scripture says, “in my distress.”

That means in the places where I’m discouraged… in the things I don’t understand how to handle… in my fears… in my anger… in those places of turmoil in my life.

But it doesn’t stop there.

Even in seasons of joy—when things are going well and I’m happy—I need to learn to cry out to the Lord. And when I cry out, the Lord will hear my voice.

God always moves near to the man who cries out to Him. He always moves close.

The Pattern: Morning, Noon, and Night

Now there’s another key in this verse, and it’s right at the beginning:

“Morning, noon, and night.”

The writer of this psalm had a pattern to his prayer life.

And listen, I’m challenging you to take ten minutes a day. You can absolutely take more than ten minutes—but you can also take different time slots throughout your day.

He said, “I pray morning, noon, and night.”

Today’s Challenge: A Prayer Check-In

So here’s my challenge for you today: have a prayer check-in.

Maybe you take your normal ten minutes of prayer in the morning like we’ve been talking about. Or maybe you do it late at night before bed. Whatever your routine is—keep it.

But why not make today a little different?

Just resolve in your heart and commit to the Lord:

“God, I’m going to check in with You morning, at lunch, and at dinner. In the morning, in the midday, and at night—I’m going to cry out to You, and You’re going to hear my voice.”

That’s a biblical pattern. And God is bound to hear you—He will do that.

Reflection Question

Here’s the reflection question for today:

What part of your day needs prayer the most?

Even if you can’t do all three time slots today, think about it honestly.

Is it lunchtime after you’ve dealt with customers all morning? People you work with? Stress? Pressure?

Is it the evening after the hard work of the day when you’re trying to wind down, but your mind is still racing?

Or is it early in the morning when you first wake up and you need your heart ready and prepared?

What time do you most need prayer?

Make that your special check-in time today. And if at all possible—check in morning, noon, and night.

Let me read it one more time:

“Morning, noon, and night, I cry out in my distress, and the Lord hears my voice.”

My friend, He’s going to hear your voice too.

And hey—share this video with somebody, because they need it. They can join the prayer challenge with us, and it’ll make a difference in their life.

Thanks for being with me today. I’ll see you in the next video.

Thanks for reading BuildStronger.co! I’m really glad you’re back with me today. I’m thankful for what the Lord is doing in our lives and in our hearts. I truly believe this is transformational.

And listen—like we talked about yesterday—you’re a warrior for Jesus. God is going to use your prayers for mighty, mighty things.

Today’s Scripture: Mark 1:35

Our verse today is Mark 1:35, and it says:

“Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.”

Another translation says an isolated place.

So here’s what I want you to catch: Jesus had a habit. He would get up early, He would get away from people, and He would go to a place where nobody else was—then He would pray.

That secret place wasn’t optional for Him. It was vital.

Why Jesus Needed It (And Why We Do Too)

Jesus was constantly surrounded by people. They always needed something. They always wanted more. And even though He was fully God, He was also fully man—fully human.

I know it’s hard to wrap our minds around sometimes, but Jesus lived this life the way we live this life. That means there were things in His life that could be depleted. He depended on the Heavenly Father just like we have to depend on the Heavenly Father.

And that dependency—that connection point—is prayer.

Yes, Jesus prayed in the synagogue. Yes, He prayed with His friends and with the disciples. But He understood something we’ve got to understand:

Your spiritual life depends on a secret place.

There must be a place where it’s just you and God.

And furthermore, the Lord rewards what we do in secret. Jesus would get alone with the Father early—“a long while before daylight”—and in that place, the Father built into Him everything He needed to fulfill the mission on His life.

Friend, God has a mission for your life too.

So if Jesus needed that private place of prayer—and He was fully God and fully man—how much more do we need it?

Today’s Challenge: Take Your 10 Minutes

Here’s my challenge for you today: find a place to get alone with God.

Even if it’s in your truck—find a place. If you need to sit in the closet, or go to the bathroom, or whatever you’ve got to do—do it. The challenge is still simple:

Ten minutes.

Set your timer if you need to. Some people might laugh at that kind of thing, but I don’t. To me, it’s you saying, “God, I’m giving You this time slot. I’m sacrificing this to You.”

Set your timer for ten minutes and take that time alone with your Heavenly Father.

And hear me: He’s going to reward you openly for what you do in secret.

Reflection Question

If Jesus needed a private place of prayer… why do we think we don’t?

How is it that we think we can get by with less than what Jesus could get by with?

Yes, Jesus was headed to the cross—absolutely. But the Bible also says our life is supposed to be a living sacrifice daily. We sacrifice ourselves for our family, for our calling, for our mission, and for our relationship with Jesus.

So if Jesus needed that private place of prayer, friend—you need it too.

If you haven’t already taken your ten minutes, go find that spot and have your alone time with the Lord.

Come on. Have a great day. I’ll see you in the next video.

Thanks for reading BuildStronger.co! Welcome to day eleven of the thirty-day prayer challenge.

I really do believe God is doing a transformational work in your life through this. You’re realizing—maybe more than ever—how important prayer is, and how much it actually matters.

Today’s scripture is Ephesians 6:18. I’ll paraphrase it the way I shared it in the video: we’re called to pray in the Spirit at all times, with perseverance, and to be praying for other people.

And what I want to talk about today is something that’s near and dear to my heart.

Prayer is more than requests—it’s co-laboring with God

When we think about prayer, most of us naturally think about getting our needs met. We think about asking God to answer our requests. And honestly, those things are good. We should desire to be closer to the Lord. He does want to meet needs. He does answer prayer.

But here’s where it comes down for us as men:

Prayer is not just a way to get my needs met.

And it’s really not even only a way to be closer to the Lord.

Prayer is co-laboring with God. It’s laboring together with the Holy Spirit. And when you see it like that, prayer becomes something else entirely.

Prayer becomes a weapon.

It’s time to pray like warriors again

So I want to say this to you today: it’s time for men to pray like warriors once again.

To pray against the forces of the enemy that are trying to overtake your life and your family.

To pray against what the devil is trying to throw on your church, on your job, and on everything connected to you.

And to come against that through the mighty power of the name of Jesus.

Prayer is a weapon. It’s a resource. It’s battle-ready. And it’s not just something you use on defense—you can take prayer on the offensive.

You can begin to seek God and win battles over your children… over your spouse… over your community… over your church… over your job… over everything that concerns you.

Prayer literally becomes a weapon of spiritual force—and that means you’ve got to rise up like a warrior.

A lot of times I talk to the remnant of God’s people, and I call them remnant warriors. Guys, you are part of that as a believer in Jesus.

So pray today like you mean business.

What it looks like to pray “like a weapon”

When you go to your prayer time today—your ten minutes we’ve been challenging you to take—I want to challenge you a step further.

Begin to plead the blood of Jesus over the things that matter. Pray it plainly. Pray it boldly. Say things like:

“Lord, I plead Your blood over this issue.”

“Father, I pray for my child—my son, my daughter. Bring them to salvation. Bring them to a knowledge of Jesus.”

“Lord, I pray for my spouse. Give them what they need, and help them overcome every attack of the enemy.”

“I plead the blood of Jesus over my home, over my life, over my church, over my community.”

“I claim the blood of Jesus over my mind and my spiritual well-being.”

And then pray like a warrior in the name of Jesus:

“Lord, in the name of Jesus, tear down every stronghold that’s coming against me or my family.”

“And Lord, build the things You want to build.”

That’s what it means to pray like a warrior. You’re not just talking about problems—you’re coming against hell’s agenda and aligning your home with heaven’s will.

Reflection question for today

Here’s the question to reflect on:

What are some areas where I need to not only ask God for things and seek His presence, but also take on prayer as a weapon—going on the offensive and the defensive?

Answer that, then take your ten minutes and pray.

And listen—share this video with somebody. There are other men who need to know God has a purpose and a plan for them, and that there is a weapon they can use to overcome the forces of the enemy.

In Jesus’ name.

We’ll see you in the next video.

Thanks for reading BuildStronger.co!
