Day 14 of 30 — Come Boldly Before God's Throne of Grace
Hey guys—welcome to day fourteen of the Thirty Day Prayer Challenge.
God is so good, and I’m honestly grateful you’re doing this with me. We’re seeking the Lord together, and that matters more than you know.
Today’s scripture is Hebrews 4:16, and it says:
“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
That verse is powerful—because I think a lot of us come before the Lord with this preconceived notion that we’re not worthy. Like we shouldn’t even be there. And because of that, we struggle to connect with our Heavenly Father.
But men, hear me: you don’t come before God based on your goodness. You don’t come based on your accomplishments, or what you’ve done right, or what you haven’t done wrong.
You come before the Father based on what Jesus has done for you.
It’s His blood on your life that makes you worthy. That’s why I love that this verse is in the Bible. It doesn’t say “come timidly.” It doesn’t say “come if you’ve had a perfect week.”
It says: come boldly.
So whenever you take your ten minutes today—this morning, this afternoon, before bed, whenever—go boldly before the Lord. Don’t go like you’ve gone before where you’re thinking, “Maybe God’s disappointed in me,” or “Maybe He’s upset with me,” or “I’ve got things He’s mad about.”
I used to feel that way a lot in my early walk with Christ.
But as I’ve come to know the Lord as my Heavenly Father—as my Abba—I’ve realized something: He’s not angry with me. He’s not sitting there waiting to pounce on me.
The Bible says I should come boldly to His throne. Why?
So I can obtain mercy and find grace.
And yes—there are times we’ve sinned and we need mercy. We need forgiveness. And praise God, He gives it freely. The Lord will forgive your sin as you confess it. He’s gracious and merciful to wash you in the blood of Jesus again.
But the verse also says we can come boldly to find grace to help in time of need.
Meaning: whatever that need is—whatever you need God to do for you—He is willing. He is ready. He is able.
Today’s challenge
Approach God with confidence, not with shame.
Don’t let shame and guilt keep you away from the Lord. Even if you need forgiveness, don’t let shame talk you into hiding. Go get the mercy and grace you need.
Reflection question
Where do you need boldness the most to pray instead of hiding?
That hiding thing goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve did wrong… and what did they do? They hid from the Lord. They were afraid of what He would say.
But because of Jesus, we have no reason to hide from God.
We can come boldly—confidently—before Him as our Abba, our Heavenly Father. And He will gladly forgive us, give us mercy, and help us in time of need.
And I’ll tell you… in my own life, there have been areas the Lord has dealt with me about where I needed to come boldly and just say, “Lord, You already know about this. So I’m giving it to You. I’m going to talk to You about it.”
Men, God already knows everything about you. There’s nothing hidden from Him.
So bring it before Him with boldness—and you’ll find out just how much He loves you, and how ready He is to help you.
Today—go get His help.
Thanks for being with me. I’ll see you in the next video.
